Description
When The Basingstoke Canal opened in 1794, there were originally 68 bridges in all, comprising 56 brick bridges and 12 wooden bridges.
Over the last 230 years there have been at least 169 bridges at 99 different locations.
There are 75 bridges in existence today ranging from the many original red brick accommodation bridges to the most recent modern bridges, but many have disappeared.
This book tells the story of them all!
