Since the first Fleet Half Marathon event in 1982, thousands of runners have completed the race and the race has become the highlight of the year’s sporting calendar in Fleet and the surrounding area. Organised by Fleet & Crookham AC – the organisers are all runners and volunteer to organise grass roots events.
Hundreds of thousands of pounds have been raised across the years for both local and national charities from sponsored runners. In addition, a huge amount of income generated for local businesses from visitors on race day and from working with local suppliers for race day supplies and support.
The “small town race, with a big race feel” is supported by runners of all abilities who take up the challenge of completing the 13.1-mile route. Could this be you in 2023 and by doing so raise funds for the Basingstoke Canal Society?

Fleet & Crookham AC and the Basingstoke Canal Society both have something in common. As registered charities, neither organisation have paid employees and are reliant on membership subscriptions, race entries and donations to keep going and reinvesting back into their projects and keeping local events going. Both organisations help to make Fleet the great place it is.
