The Information Boards have now all been installed – where is your nearest Board?
You will recall that over a year ago we raised money from donations and grants to install a series of Information Boards along the canal which give the background on history, nature and local points of interest.
We had a fantastic response from people and our team of volunteers, in conjunction with the BCA, have designed and installed 15 Information Boards along the Canal. So now not only is the canal beautiful place but it is even more interesting to have more information about the various localities.
Below is a list of the locations of the information boards. Images of the boards can be found in a gallery by clicking here.
This programme has been a great success and is a wonderful example of The Basingstoke Canal Society and the community working together to help us all enjoy our wonderful Canal.
Thanks to everyone involved including most importantly all those who donated, the Society volunteers who helped design and install the Boards, and the BCA for their support. May there be many more successful projects.
