The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

2nd June: Surrey Heath Mayor’s Family Fun Day – Frimley Lodge Park (12 – 5pm)

The glorious day brought families out to celebrate the Jubilee with a party atmosphere. Alison & Sandie set up the stall this time and made £99.60 in sales, £11.50 donations to the Kitty II fund from the Buzzer Box.

The event had a huge number of local stalls and arena events from local organisations and cultures.

There was plenty of volunteer support throughout the day, while ensuring that everyone had a break to see the show.

3rd June: Boat Rally at part of Fleet the Town Council Fun Day of Sport – The Fox and Hounds from noon

Again a sunny day made the whole day a buzz of people along the tow path viewing the boats, watching the Sea Scout canoe display, enjoying the live music and food available at the pub. We had many visitors to the stand and made £126.70 in book and gift sales plus £11.00 donations to the Kitty II fund from the Buzzer Box. The sloping ground made it difficult to position the Buzzer Box safely at the front of the stand.

The Boat Rally included a variety of boats in front of the pub and ABA took a few trips along the canal.

The success of the event is hoped to be repeated next year with interest from the Fox and Hounds landlord, Fleet Sea Scouts, The Snowboard Shop (paddleboards) and ABA collaborating to make this an annual event (with more boats).
