Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her Platinum Jubilee with national holidays at the beginning of June. Many of the local councils adjoining the canal are preparing events to celebrate the occasion. As everyone likes to see boats of all shapes and sizes on the canal we have been asked rally local boaters to pay a tribute to our Queen with a colourful spectacle on the water.
Thursday 2nd June – Family Fun Day at Frimley Lodge Park from 12 noon. A Boat Rally along the towpath and displays from local canoe club. We will have our membership stand in the park, with the Buzzer Box and colourful attractions to join in the festivities.
Friday 3rd June – Boat Rally at The Fox and Hounds from 12 noon. Fleet Town Council have four days of fun activities planned https://www.fleetplatinumjubilee.co.uk/ The Fleet Sea Scouts will be supporting the boat rally with a display of canoe and kayak skills. The Fox and Hounds will provide a BBQ and live music.
Celebrate Woking Celebrate Woking — be proud… be part of it includes community activities to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and celebrate this historic milestone.
