With us being a totally volunteer led charity, Volunteers are at the heart of The Basingstoke Canal Society and everything we do.
This handbook has been created to help everyone who gives their time and energy to the canal feel supported, informed, and valued.
It brings together the key information you need about volunteering with us – from our shared values and safety guidance to the practical details of day-to-day volunteering. It details what you should expect from the Society, and in turn what the Society asks of you as a volunteer.
Our aim is to make sure every volunteer has a rewarding and enjoyable experience while helping to protect, promote, and support the Basingstoke Canal for future generations.
