Basingstoke Canal 60th Anniversary Booklet

We have produced a booklet to commemorate some of the key events during the 60 years history of Basingstoke Canal Society. Read the booklet.

60th Anniversary Celebration of the Basingstoke Canal Society

Saturday 18 April 12 noon – 4pm
Location: Boundary Road Recreation Ground, Woking, GU21 5BX

The event will feature:

• the offical naming of Kitty II, our electric trip boat
• stalls
• refreshments
• children’s activities
• entertainment
• display of archive materials
• various water craft on the Canal

Chobham Talks – Damsels and Dragons: Basingstoke Canal & Beyond. Presented by Francis Kelly.

Wednesday 22 April 8pm
Location: Parish Pavilion on the A3046, Station Road, Chobham

As a SSSI, the Basingstoke Canal is a wonderful habitat for dragonflies and damselflies. Francis will tell the story of photographing every species found in the UK, with a particular
focus on those found on our canal.
