Local Running Clubs

It’s not about winning, it’s about taking part, finding new friends and feeling good. We welcome new members interested in all running (road, cross country, track) and other athletic disciplines, of all standards, from fun runner to county level.

You just need to be interested in any aspect of the sport – participating or helping out on the coaching side. This may mean you want to run just a few kms/miles with a group of like-minded people or you want to challenge your training to get to that target finish time at a local event. You may have taken part in athletics or cross-country at school or in years gone by and wish to recapture that feeling of fitness or to help others by coaching.

We know that it can be hard work to regain fitness or to move on to the next level of competition: training with others is a positive step because friends help you build towards your goal – whatever it is. Competition within the Club is positive – we encourage all our members to compete in local events, at their own level. By taking part in races or athletic meetings you learn so much about yourself and gain confidence.

We accept new members from the age of 8 for our Junior Section and provide coaching three times a week all year round. Adults are welcomed to all of our sessions (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings and Sunday morning) and groups of club members also arrange additional sessions to suit their own needs, time availability and particular interests.

With our own club organised local events to challenge you – the annual Fleet 5km & 10km in October and the Fleet Half Marathon in March as well as the weekly Edenbrook parkrun on your doorstep, there are lots of reasons to run.

Visit www.fleetandcrookhamac.club to find out more.  We look forward to seeing you!

A social and competitive club training on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. After the Wednesday night run, some members socialise with a drink at the clubhouse bar. The club is affiliated to both England Athletics and the Association of Running Clubs, and is a member of the MABAC Running League. They take part in a wide range of road and trail events including 5K, 10K, half-marathon, marathon, and ultra distances.

The main club night is on a Wednesday. The website suggests this is the best night to come along for the first time. The club try to cater for all needs, and all ranges of ability. All groups have a designated leader and usually a tail runner as well.
