The Drama, Comedy and Song theme cruise planned for July onboard John Pinkerton had to be cancelled due to Covid restrictions.
We are pleased to announce that the Hampshire Theatre Group has offered to do an open-air show on Saturday 22nd August. There will be two performances, at 3pm and 7pm.
The drama is set in July 1940, and following Dunkirk, England is poised for an expected German Invasion and the Basingstoke Canal is designated as the Last Line of Defence….
The venue has changed to the magnificent grounds of Hatchwood House, Odiham, off the Farnham Road, by kind permission of Mrs Veronica Parsons.
On-site parking opens 1 hour before the performance. Bring your own chairs or picnic blankets, and any refreshments you require. Toilets on site
Although there is more room for the audience than on the John Pinkerton canal boat, numbers are limited, so booking is essential.
Tickets are £10 each, available at Boat Bookings for August.
All proceeds will be split between Hampshire Theatre Group and The Basingstoke Canal Society.
Please dress for the weather. If you want to air your period costume after lockdown, you will be welcome, but not essential.
Hampshire Theatre Group would like to reassure visitors that Social Distancing will be maintained and that precautions have been taken to ensure a COVID Secure environment.
