Have you booked your boat trip?

Great news that our trip boats John Pinkerton and Kitty are now running with the normal number of passengers, up to 50 for John Pinkerton and 12 for Kitty.  However, as we are unable to maintain social distancing, passengers and crew will be advised to wear masks when boarding or moving about the boat. The current high level of biosecurity and cleaning will continue.

John Pinkerton in Odiham, Hampshire runs public trips of about 2.5 hours on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Kitty in Woking offers public trips of about 1.25 hours Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

John Pinkerton also runs several themed public trips. Most have now sold out- but have a look at the web site. Still with open bookings is a music cruise, Jen Merchant singing Motown, swing and jazz, 3 September at 7.00pm. (A fish and chips supper is included).

Kitty will be running Heritage Open Day trips on 11 and 18 September.  Tickets are free but must be booked through the Lightbox Gallery in Woking, 01483 737800.

Both boats are available to charter for a private event or party.  John Pinkerton has a licensed bar and toilet onboard.  Charterers are free to make their own arrangements for food.  The boats are crewed by trained volunteers from the Basingstoke Canal Society.

The Basingstoke Canal is a haven for wild fowl and aquatic plants.  It also one of the best places in the country to see dragonflies and damselflies.  Trips on John Pinkerton leave from the Odiham village wharf and pass through farms and woodland.  Kitty leaves from the town wharf and cruises along Horsell Common and lovely canal side properties, showing Woking from a completely different perspective.
