Cream Tea Cruise

Special afternoon cruises from Colt Hill Wharf in Odiham for those who enjoy a little more pampering.

We expect the following to apply for the safety of passengers and crew:
Reservation for a table of up to 4 persons from the same family bubble, to be confirmed as the full recovery pathway is published.
Tickets will be priced per person, and will reserve only one table per family.
A maximum of five tables will be available, socially spaced and incorporating all required Covid prevention measures.
Bar service will operate to the table, with payment being made by card.
All passengers will make a Covid declaration before boarding; if unwell, please do not travel.

Ticket availability will be published as soon as possible. Please check back as prevailing restrictions are made public.

Departing at 3PM, these cruises are served with our special cream tea, complemented by china tea-sets and table-cloths, to a background of piano accompaniment.  A great opportunity to spoil someone or just have a catch-up with your friends. Tables are laid for groups of 4 people, and although we can make slight adjustments you may be asked to share.

These cruises generally last around 2½ hours, taking you westwards to Greywell and King John’s Castle where you can get off to stretch your legs while the boat turns.

Check out the 2nd June and 7th July for other Tea Cruises, or 18th June for Grand Cafe Themed Cruise.

Cruise in the peaceful surroundings of the Basingstoke Canal

The canal is an SSSI, and not only serves as a local recreational amenity but is also a notable wildlife habitat.

The alkaline water from the chalk springs at Greywell and the acid water content eastward where the canal passes through heathland, has given rise to one of the largest varieties of aquatic plants and invertebrates in the United Kingdom.

As many as 25 of Britain’s 39 species of dragonflies and damselflies inhabit the canal.

You may get lucky and see a Kingfisher that is considered to be a lucky bird. You can also see herons swans, ducks, geese, moorhens (often with young) and various local floras.

Cruise times may be extended in low water conditions.
