Basingstoke Canal Authority
As owners of the Canal, the Authority should be contacted regarding all day-to-day matters related to the running of the Canal, for example, fallen trees and other hazards, complaints, moorings etc.
The Basingstoke Canal Angling Association may be contacted through their website www.bcaafish.uk. Permits can be purchased through the Basingstoke Canal Authority as above, or through Tackle Up, in Fleet.
Two canoe clubs operate on the Canal:
The Basingstoke Canal Society operates boat trips throughout the year and you can find out more information by clicking here. A trip boat may also be hired at the Mytchett Canal Centre through the Basingstoke Canal Authority, and various leisure boats in Odiham through Galleon Marine.
There is a plethora of pubs the entire length of the canal from Woodham junction to the Greywell Tunnel so visitors are never short of somewhere to get some refreshment. Fortunately there is a website called “Canal & Riverside Pubs” that contains a list of all of them including some details of their amenities. Click here to see the list.
